Seeing the pilot was even more exciting because it was so clear that this show something so special and fresh. The concept, tone, writing, production values and cast all deliver. A Message from Sharon
WEDNESDAY 02/03/10
“Last summer I exec produced a music video with at young producer I am mentoring from my university. The song is "Till My Voice Is Gone" by the band THE OLD CEREMONY which hails from the town of our alma mater UNC-Chapel Hill and features Ed Asner whom I starred with in THE LINE for HBO Canada.
I loved the concept my friend/mentee Andrew Carlberg was developing, so I brought Ed onboard, he brought Eileen Ryan (Sean Penn's Mother) to the project and last week our video was one of three finalists in the LG LIFE’s GOOD Film Fest winning a $10’00 prize. We are all so proud of this message. And we send Ed congratulation on UP’s OSCAR nomination.”

Message from Sharon - ‘Dixie Carter’
MONDAY 04/12/10
I am brokenhearted about the passing of a friend and mentor Dixie Carter. As an actress, lady and center of her loving family, she soared above the rest and I am privileged to have known her.
Perhaps because I had the honor of sharing the mother/daughter relationship with her on screen, her passing has hit me hard. Her motherly love even as a character was a potent and precious gift. It was the NBC sitcom FIRED UP, I starred in which first gave me that gift as Dixie played my mother and then we did it again in LADIES MAN with Alfred Molina for CBS. Watching Dixie and Betty White spar as in-laws on that show was watching two true goddess of comedy.
It’s funny how much she has been on my mind lately. As time passes, she becomes even more of a role model for me. Just the other day, as I was dressing for a pilot in which I play Kristin Kreuk’s mother, I thought - “No jeans for me on this show. I’m gonna dress like Dixie. Bring that gracious elegance and cashmere softness to the role and the room.” Even as I write this, I hear her lusty laugh.
Although my heart is broken for her beautiful family as Mary Dixie is expecting Dixie’s first grandchild in June. There is comfort in the certainty she had everything and everyone she needed as she made her transition. Annie Potts gave me great comfort as she shared an eastern philosophy with me yesterday - ”Once the bottle is broken the perfume is everywhere”. That feels right because knowing she is gone, somehow brings her closer. My prayer is that Dixie knows how much this Southern sister loves, cherishes and carries her with me.
